Moving checklist for working at a ski resort
Papers, gear, budget and staff-house arrival: a practical list so you don’t improvise on day 1 of season in the Alps or Pyrenees.
Signing the contract is only half. The other half is arriving with papers, kit and cash buffer for the first fortnight. This checklist prevents the classic ‘I showed up and didn’t have…’.
Paperwork (2–4 weeks before)
- Valid ID/passport plus digital copies.
- Signed contract + employer details and staff-house address.
- Permits/visas if working outside your country (France, Switzerland, Andorra).
- Health card / insurance and bank details for payroll.
- Certificates requested in the listing (food handler, ESI, first aid).
What to pack (and what not)
- Work clothes + cold layers; ask if there’s a uniform.
- Non-slip shoes for F&B or kitchen.
- Toiletries, towel and sheet if housing doesn’t include them (confirm in chat).
- Don’t bring your whole wardrobe: staff-house space is limited.
Arrival budget
Keep 2–3 weeks of expenses: housing deposit, food, transport and possible unpaid days. Ask in Nevajobs chat about advances, included meals or staff lift pass.
Day 0–1 on site
- Staff-house check-in: photos of damage and rules in writing.
- First-shift schedule and manager contact.
- Wi‑Fi and coverage — you’ll need chat and alerts.
- Supermarket, pharmacy and night transport locations.
If something doesn’t match
Contract different from chat, unlivable flat or changed dates: document it and talk to HR immediately. Don’t wait a week. On Nevajobs keep the chat thread as proof of what was agreed.
Still without a seat? Finish profile and video at /empleos, compare listings in /jobs/compare and arrive with this list ready. Season is better when day 1 isn’t improvised.
